The Ethiopian Embassy in Addis Ababa has been informed by the Ministry of Justice that the judges and legal experts of the Addis Ababa City Administration Appeals Conference on Urban Vacancy and Compensation Issues have received training on urban vacancy and compensation in accordance with Proclamation No. 1161/2011, Proclamation No. 472/2012, and the Civil Procedure Law on January 28-29, 2018.
The training covered the legal and procedural frameworks for implementing land release for public purposes, the compensation and rehabilitation of tenants, the review and application of key provisions of Proclamation Nos. 1161/2011, 1336/2016, and 472/2012, the definition of compensation, the validity and formulas for resolving complaints and claims, as well as the rules of procedure and evaluation of evidence to be followed during case hearings.
During the training, participants were able to share their work experiences and exchange knowledge.
