A meeting of the Board of Trustees of the City of Addis Ababa.

On 17/06/2018, a discussion forum was held at the Assembly Hall of the Justice Building, attended by officials and experts from the Center, Sub-City, and Woreda.

The President of the Conference, Mr. Olyad Seyoum, opened the forum with a speech on the day. He stated that this is a significant forum for the annual awareness event where the Urban Vacancy and Compensation Appeals Conference will present their work, discussions will be held on various topics, connections will be established with stakeholders and among participants, and the conference will be inspired toward positive change.

He emphasized the importance of the community being aware of its role as a place where people can come together and collaborate to make a difference. He noted that land is a precious and limited resource, and its use should be carefully managed. Different countries have different policies regarding land use. In his speech, he mentioned that in our country, Ethiopia, land is a fundamental resource governed by constitutional provisions rather than a policy on land ownership and tenure.

A six-month report on the progress of the conference was presented at the forum, along with a written overview of the issues raised by the conference stakeholders.
• George: What is Ethiopia's legal approach regarding the release of land tenure for public benefit and the payment of property compensation?
• George: How and when were the issues of urban eviction and compensation addressed?
• George: What activities did the congregation carry out within its jurisdiction?
• George: The conference provided insight into the distinguishing features of the judiciary compared to other judicial institutions and related matters. Additionally, discussions with stakeholders took place, suggestions and questions were raised, and the meeting concluded peacefully with appropriate responses and explanations to the questions posed.
